Aims of Module | |||

1. To upskill participants to understand basic contractual rights and obligations 2. To increase participant's confidence and understanding of the legal frameworks around common contractual challenges which they may face both at the formation and the execution of contracts 3. To provide delegates with insights into the key contractual risks which exist within commercial contracts |

On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to: | |
1 | Understand and critically evaluate the basic principles of contract law and the role the contract plays alongside other factors in managing the risk and the relationships between parties to contracts |
2 | Understand and evaluate the legal framework for agreeing contracts and the key features of that process in the commercial context |
3 | Understand and critically evaluate the operation of contractual administration processes and their response to forseen and unforseen events, and dispute resolution |
4 | Understand and critically evaluate the key legal concepts which govern the approach to the consequences of breaches of contract as the apply in a commercial context |
5 | Examine, understand and critique the detail of key contractual risk allocation provisions in commercial contracts |
