Introducing the Chaplain

The University currently has one half-time chaplain.

ISAAC M POOBALAN

Isaac is an ordained priest with the Scottish Episcopal (Anglican)Church. In addition to his duties at RGU, Isaac serves as the Rector of St John's Church in the city centre of Aberdeen.

Isaac graduated as a General Nurse and specialised in Psychiatric Nursing. He trained as a Priest at Coates Hall in Edinburgh and has Master of Theology from the University of Edinburgh.

He is a trained Spiritual Director. He has special interest in religious music and rituals of all faiths. He enjoys music, films, photography, art, trekking and yoga.

As the Chairman of the Friends of Vellore, Scotland he organises fundraising events for this and other charities, promotes international student exchange.

Meeting the Chaplain
   
The chaplain is on one of the campus sites from Tuesday to Friday mid-morning to early afternoon. If you want to get in touch with Isaac then you can ring or text his home/office number which is 01224 591527. Alternatively you can email the chaplain on chaplaincy@rgu.ac.uk.

The chaplain also has access to a room on the top floor of the Student Association building for meetings next to the quiet room.
