Admissions Office
The Admissions Office is a central support service which is responsible for the following:
- Advising prospective UK/EU based students on entry requirements in respect to taught undergraduate and postgraduate degrees
- Advising prospective UK/EU and overseas students wishing to study by distance learning (please note that International applicants wishing to apply for a full-time course should contact the International Office)
- Advising prospective students on the equivalence of non-UK qualifications, where applicable
- Ensuring that all enquiries are dealt with professionally, courteously and accurately
- Issuing course/programme related information to prospective students
- Ensuring that each application is given individual consideration and that selection and admissions policies and procedures are consistently applied
- Processing all applications promptly and efficiently
- Liaising with UCAS in respect of [undergraduate] admissions decisions
- Issuing acknowledgement letters to all successful applicants
- Monitoring application rates
- Organising the University's clearing activity
- Reviewing external guidance/policy e.g. QAA Code of Practice, to ensure that admissions policies and practices are developed and enhanced as appropriate
