The Scott Sutherland School

scottsutherland

The Scott Sutherland School was formed by the amalgamation of the School of Construction, Property and Surveying and the Scott Sutherland School of Architecture.

This site is an introduction to the Scott Sutherland School, its courses and culture. The School's work supports The Robert Gordon University's mission statement to produce versatile and useful practitioners.

This means educating graduates who will provide constructive and imaginative answers to the difficult problems of today's Built Environment. We hope that they will challenge existing practices and interpret the professional role in a new and enterprising manner.

The School takes its name from Tom Scott Sutherland, an Aberdeen Architect and Entrepreneur, who gifted the School's Victorian Mansion house and beautiful grounds overlooking the River Dee in 1956, as well as making a generous bequest which is used to help finance study tours and visiting lecturers.
