We advise both research students and supervisory teams to access the resources contained in this section as they have been designed with both students and supervisors in mind.

Research Degree Supervision: A Guide to Good Practice
Research Supervisors CPD Event
All Supervisors who work with RGU research students must undertake the CPD course every 3 years. This course is delivered by Professor Linda Lawton at regular intervals during the year, to coincide with the arrival of new research students. Supervisors can do the course in one complete day or 2 half days. If you have already attended this course, you can now take advantage of "refresher" half day courses available from 2009.

The aims of the course are to:
- Facilitate discussion and action learning between experienced and less experienced supervisors;
- Provide an update on any developments or changes to RGU processes;
- Disseminate ideas from national and international sources pertaining to research degree supervision;
- Contribute to cross University research networking;
