Research Ethics
Our Research Ethics policy applies to all research undertaken at RGU. Familiarising yourself with the policy will help ensure that you are conducting your research ethically and is essential if your fieldwork involves contact with humans or animals. For further details see the link below.
Student Services
Student Services can offer you advice on counselling, medical and chaplaincy facilities. The Treehouse Nursery, at the Garthdee Campus, is available for staff and students who need childcare provision.
Meet your School Research Degree Coordinator
As well as your supervisory Team (headed by the Principal Supervisor) your school will also have a Research Degree Coordinator, who it is useful for you to meet within your first two weeks of arrival. Your Principal Supervisor will introduce you to the School’s Research Degree Coordinator. Throughout your research degree the Coordinator will play an important role by acting as an independent advisor in your School.

You may require an electronic swipe card to access various buildings on campus, particularly if you will be working outwith standard office hours. Swipe cards are only available on some campuses, however if you believe you need one contact the School Office who will be able to provide you with further information.
Sickness Notification
If you become ill it is important to inform the University. Details on the Sickness Notification procedure for your School are available through your supervisory team.
