The University provides innovation services to industry and the professions through a variety of mechanisms:-
Consultancy undertaken by staff at the University may include:
- product development
- theoretical analysis
- new materials or processes
- application of technology into a new field
Technology which has been developed during research activities may be applicable to your industry sector and market.
The KTP helps companies to increase their profitability by providing grants, which allow access to expertise not currently available within the company. In this way companies can effectively increase their skill base allowing them to, for example, develop new products, diversify into new markets or increase efficiencies through the introduction of new business processes.
Both postgraduate and undergraduate students will undertake projects in collaboration with local companies and organisations throughout their studies. Some students will also undertake placements during the summer.
Recent graduates make ideal catalysts for innovation in companies as the blend of enthusiasm, knowledge of theoretical principles and practice in problem solving blends with the experience of existing employees.
