Aims of Module
To critically analyse within a problem solving and strategic environment, the processes and strategies undertaken by project managers during the development process.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Assess and evaluate the differing requirements of projects during their life cycle within a goal oriented environment.
2 Critically appraise within a problem solving environment the requirements for timely decision making and choice of organisational structure and planning strategies available to the project manager.
3 Critically appraise key project evaluation monitoring and control and their importance in bringing projects to successful completion.
4 Critically review and creatively apply the various strategic IT led techniques, viewed as contemporary project management tools.

Indicative Module Content
Introduction and overview, project administration; role of the Project Manager, team leadership; project organisation structures; project planning; time, cost and quality triangle; problem solving and decision making; monitoring, information systems and control; project evaluation and termination.

Module Delivery
Module is taught via 2 modes: Taught Mode (T). The module is delivered in taught mode by lectures, interactive group work, case study tutorials and directed self-study. Blended Learning Mode. The study materials will be available on CampusMoodle and support will be available online.
