Aims of Module
To provide the student with the ability to critically appraise, synthesise and evaluate construction management situations under realistic conditions.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Critically review strategic IT led techniques, viewed as contemporary construction management tools.
2 Critically appraise timely decision making and choice of organisational structure and scheduling strategies available to the construction manager.

Indicative Module Content
This module will examine the planning and scheduling of construction projects and students will be encouraged to use construction planning tools to determine critical paths and programme times. Coupled to this, students will explore IT approaches to strategic construction management such as IT portals.

This module is delivered using mini lectures followed by student centred tasks.
