Aims of Module
To understand and apply the principles of traditional and alternative procurement methods, along with contractual and tendering arrangements in the context of the built environment.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Critically analyse traditional and contemporary procurement practice
2 Appraise and evaluate various tendering arrangements in built asset procurement
3 Analyse and differentiate the contexts of contractual arrangements for varying procurement strategies

Indicative Module Content
Procurement strategies, BIM and collaborative procurement, sustainable construction and procurement, PPP/PFI, tendering arrangements, contractual arrangements, procurement process, collaborative teamwork.

Module Delivery
This module will be delivered via a blend of lectures and workshops. There is a significant element of self-centred learning to allow the student to reflect on lectures before applying knowledge to scenarios presented in workshops. Students will enhance their experience of collaborative team working during this module.
