Aims of Module
To provide the student with the ability to integrate and consolidate knowledge and understanding from studies conducted throughout Stages 1 and 2.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Assess the technology and management solutions and any other factors which may influence time, cost and quality upon a real-life project developing appropriate knowledge.
2 Point out an appropriate procurement strategy, appropriate plan and programme of resources, including a cost plan, required to successfully complete the project.
3 Discuss the environmental, health & safety and sustainability issues involved in the construction project.
4 Defend the selected project plans of LO2 by presentation and critique and illustrate an ability to independently study/work as well as participate collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team in context of a construction project.
5 Critically review the core contents of the module and relate to their application within the work place including ethical, professional, and sustainable practices and professional attributes.

Indicative Module Content
The module facilitates the integration of topics delivered at Stages 1 and 2 by guided application of best practice techniques to a real life project. Organisational and economic factors will be viewed in the context of flexible and efficient construction practices. Design technology and construction will be integrated within a design context; with emphasis on a safe, environmentally responsible practical application and clear customer focus. Individual and team working activities will be encouraged.

Module Delivery
The module is delivered in Blended Learning mode using structured online learning materials/activities and directed study, facilitated by regular online tutor support. Workplace Mentor support and work-based learning activities will allow students to contextualise this learning to their own workplace. Face-to-face engagement occurs through annual induction sessions, employer work-site visits, and modular on-campus workshops.
