| The module will provide an introduction to the principles of construction project management and discuss techniques and processes necessary to manage a project to cost, time, quality, safety and environmental requirements. | |||

| On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to: | |
| 1 | Understand the management of the construction process as they relate to a project from inception to recycling. |
| 2 | Appraise different planning and monitoring techniques for managing project time and cost |
| 3 | Understand the role of the construction manager in leading the construction team and successfully managing client expectations. |

| The module is designed to provide a realisation of the breadth of management skills required to be brought together to successfully manage a project. |

| This is a lecture based module supplemented with workshops. A substantial part of the module is devoted to student centred learning in the form of directed reading of management and trade journals, core texts and resource material. |
