1 | Identify the principles and select appropriate methods of recording measurements from drawn information and associated descriptions of works, as defined in the current RICS New Rules of Measurement. |

Indicative Module Content |
---|
The module will facilitate investigation of the use of Bills of Quantities (BQs), formats and techniques adopted to ensure Quality assurance of the final BQ. An introduction to and application of the current method of measurement for building works, including the co-ordinated project information initiative (CPI). The interpretation of graphical and textual project information; mensuration techniques and conventional methods of booking and preparing dimensions. The development of assessment includes a significant volume of collaborative team working. |
Module Delivery |

This is predominantly a workshop based module with Tutor support. There will be a limited number of key lectures, with student centred learning based upon core texts. Students will be working in teams to develop experience of working collaboratively. Practicing professionals will assist with workshops where appropriate. New BIM based billing software will be introduced within this module. |
