Aims of Module | |||
---|---|---|---|
To demonstrate competence in research methodology by undertaking independent research on an approved topic relevant to Corporate Social Responsibility and Energy. |
Learning Outcomes for Module | |

On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to: | |
1 | Research and review the literature on a research topic and produce a research proposal. |
2 | Identify and critically evaluate relevant literature on the chosen topic. |
3 | Plan, design and conduct a methodologically rigorous and ethically sound research study. |
4 | Appropriately analyse the data collected and produce a critical and logical interpretation of these results (and any implications they may have to industry/policy/future researchers) in the form of a written dissertation. |
5 | Integrate and apply the knowledge, understanding and skills gained in the course. |
Indicative Module Content |
---|
Student-led independent research under academic supervision to include: Philosophy of research, Literature review, Design and preparation of a research project and collection of data, Quantitative and qualitative data analysis techniques, Submission of Dissertation. |
Module Delivery |
---|
Full time delivery will be through tutorials, workshops and self-directed study. Distance learning delivery will be through self-directed study from web-based learning materials. Students will be assigned a supervisor for further guidance and support. |
