Aims of Module
To allow students to demonstrate by empirical research or structured literature review a level of enquiry into a field relevant to social work practice commensurate with a Master's Award.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Critically evaluate a range of social science and social work literature relevant to their research proposal.
2 Critically use research literature and/or primary research to address their research question(s).
3 Write a dissertation which critically evaluates implication of their research for practice.

Indicative Module Content
Advanced project management skills. Research methodologies and skills. Time management. Data handling. Writing skills. Presentation skills. Literature searching. Applying research to practice. Informing and evaluating social work practice.
