Aims of Module
To provide students with substantive knowledge of those aspects of law and policy that pertain to the provision of personal social services in Scotland and elsewhere as well as the methodological tools required to analyse them.
Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:

Critically appraise the operation of law and policy concerning the delivery of personal social services.

Account critically within appropriate frameworks for such appraisal.

Use appropriate tools to analyse and contextualise new law and policy as it is created/implemented.

Indicative Module Content
Scots and UK law and policy as it effects delivery of personal social services in Scotland and elsewhere. Comparative structures/models of service delivery. Policy analysis.
