Aims of Module | |||
---|---|---|---|
To provide students with a critical and analytical understanding of interventions and services provided to older people, people with mental health problems and those with disabilities in order to equip students to function within a social work or care management role. To critically appraise Community Care within its historical and current context. |
Learning Outcomes for Module | |

On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to: | |
1 | Evidence critical understanding of the law, policy and processes involved in supporting and protecting those user groups whose services are provided within the framework of Community Care. |
2 | Evidence critical understanding of the current context of community care with an emphasis on the interprofessional agenda. |
3 | Evidence critical understanding of knowledge used in the process of assessment and intervention with vulnerable user groups. |
Indicative Module Content |
---|
Assessment, interventions and service delivery methods and models for older people, those with mental health problems, disabilities and other vulnerable users. Role of service users, carers and others in service design, delivery and evaluation. The interprofessional and interagency context of community care. |
