Aims of Module | |||

To increase awareness of the importance of primary and secondary research in clinical practice. To facilitate the students' development of critical analysis of a range of research methods and the systematic critical review of literature. |
Learning Outcomes for Module | |

On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to: | |
1 | Independently execute a detailed systematic review of literature in the field of child development and child mental health. |
2 | Critically evaluate relevant literature in the field of child development and child mental health. |
3 | Apply critical understanding of research methodologies to the analysis of literature in the field of child development and child mental health. |
4 | Synthesise evidence based arguments to inform professional practice. |
5 | Critically evaluate secondary data relevant to professional practice. |

Systematic review of literature, synthesis and integration of critical analysis of literature, critical discrimination between and reasoned choice of different research methodologies for different purposes, data analysis. |
