Aims of Module
To explore the historic development of therapeutic photography techniques and it's alignment with contemporary developments within sociology, psychology, and counselling skills. To explore the dynamics, theory, skills and outcomes of using therapeutic photography techniques.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Evidence critical understanding of therapeutic practice and the dynamics of communication.
2 Critically analyse theoretical perspectives of the self and interaction with society.
3 Demonstrate a critical account of power dynamics and the importance of support and supervision.

Indicative Module Content
History of therapeutic photography, therapeutic practice, counselling skills, theories of the self and society, emotional intelligence and development, groupwork dynamics, narrative approaches, empowerment, support and supervision.

Module Delivery
Full time online - a combination of recorded lectures, interactive exercises, recorded interviews, discussion zones, and group tutorials.
