Aims of Module
To enable students to reflect upon and capture the breadth of their skills and knowledge development and to consider how this supports effective transition to the professional role.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Critically examine individual skills and knowledge development, including future developmental needs to enable effective completion of the Individual Learning Plan.
2 Demonstrate understanding of the transitional process from student to NQSW and evaluate the skills, knowledge and supports which enable effective transition.
3 Examine the development of professional identity and the factors that support and promote this development.

Indicative Module Content
Individual learning, reflective practice, self-care, emotional intelligence, transitions, NQSW, continuous professional development, employability, career opportunities, stakeholder participation, individual learning plan, interview skills, competence and confidence, professional identity, complexity and conflict, support. Economic, social and political context of social work practice.

Module Delivery
A mixture of lectures, seminars and workshops including those supported by key stakeholders.
