Aims of Module | |||

To provide practice experiences which will enable the student to demonstrate competence in the SSSC Requirements as contained in the Standards in Social Work Education Document in a manner appropriate for a Stage 4 student. |
Learning Outcomes for Module | |

On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to: | |
1 | Critically analyse legislative and social policy factors which had an impact on the user group, including consideration of discrimination and structural issues. |
2 | Critically reflect on how thinking about the assessment and intervention with a service user evolved over time, incorporating a reflection on the role and the range of theory and knowledge considered during the process. |
3 | With reference to their practice learning setting, locate, understand, and critically evaluate research findings and literature which are relevant to social work practice. |
4 | Demonstrate competence in direct practice skills as required by the SSSC in a manner appropriate for a Level 4 student. |
Indicative Module Content |
---|
A period of direct practice which will allow the student the opportunity to reflect, apply, and integrate a range of values, theories and methods to social work practice. The student will draw from theory, practice and research of the subject matter and meet the expectations and knowledge requirement of engagement with public protection. |
