Aims of Module
To provide the student with the opportunity to extend learning from Practice Learning 1 to achieve the range of practice competence required by the SSSC for qualified practice.
Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:

Prepare for and work with individuals, families, carers, groups and communities to assess their needs and circumstances and support them to represent and manage their needs, views and circumstances.

Plan, carry out, review and evaluate social work practice with individuals, families, carers, groups, communities and other professionals.

3. |
Assess and manage risk to individuals, families, carers, groups, communities, self and collegues.

4. |
Manage and be accountable, with supervision and support, for their own practice within a practice setting.

5. |
Demonstrate competence in direct practice skills as required by the SSSC in a manner appropriate for a Stage 4 student.

Indicative Module Content
Supervised social work practice learning will allow the student the opportunity to reflect, apply and integrate a range of values, theories and methods to social work practice and meet the expectations and knowledge requirements of Key Capabilities in child Care and protection (Scottish Executive, 2006).

Additional Notes
The level 4 period of supervised practice learning will generate practice experiences which will allow the student to complete the following modules: SS3019 Practice Learning 2/Contexts, SS4044 Practice Learning 2/Competence in Practice and SS34046 Personal and Professional Development 2.
