Aims of Module
To provide students with the ability to facilitate the learners integration of legislation and policy to practice and employ appropriate leadership skills within the practice setting.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Enable learners to develop a critical awareness of the implications of legislation, policy and guidance for their practice setting.
2 Model good practice and enable learners to act with appropriate responsibility, accountability and authority, as required by their professional role.
3 Demonstrate appropriate leadership in the creation of the learning environment, including the ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts.

Indicative Module Content
Practice implications of prevailing legislation, policies and guidance. Authority, accountability and governance - implications for professional role. Changing Lives report. Leadership styles and conflict resolution.

Module Delivery
Independent study using prepared interactive materials reinforced by tutorial contact and attendance at study day.
