Aims of Module
To provide students with the ability to evaluate the effectiveness of their own work settings, taking account of available research and evidence, in order that they can facilitate these skills in learners.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Evaluate existing relevant research and assess its potential applicability to own work settings.
2 Evaluate the effectiveness of service delivery within own work settings.
3 Facilitate in learners the ability to evaluate practice and make appropriate use of available relevant research.

Indicative Module Content
Research methodology. Advanced literature searching. Systematic review/Cochrane. Evaluation of practice. Political context of evidence based practice. Application of research to social work practice.

Module Delivery
Independent study using prepared interactive materials reinforced by tutorial contact and attendance at study day.
