Aims of Module
To enable the student to apply a knowledge of Research Methods to a chosen area of practice.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Critically evaluate a range of research methods applicable to social work
2 Critically evaluate primary research studies
3 Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of contemporary research issues and design in a chosen area of study

Indicative Module Content
Advanced web-based and literature search, research design skills, research ethics.

Module Delivery
Based on directed and private study, supplemented by lectures and workshop. Materials provided to students which form the basis for tutorials and private study.
