Aims of Module
To enable the student to engage in a comparative evaluation of how social work services are organised and delivered, and the extent to which the needs of different service user groups are met within a range of countries.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Engage in a comparative evaluation of relevant political and social policy contexts within a range of countries and understand their impact on social work services.
2 Critically evaluate the organisational contexts within which social work services are delivered in different countries and the outcomes for those who use these services.
3 Critically analyse the training and deployment of social work professionals in different countries.

Indicative Module Content
A comparison of different welfare models, social and political contexts within a range of countries. The impact of globalisation on social work services. Approaches to the education and training of social work professionals within a range of countries. The organisational contexts and service delivery systems for a range of social service user groups in different nations.
