Aims of Module
To enable the student to demonstrate the ability to apply a relevant theory to practice and reflect critically on their practice with regard to values, knowledge, assessment and intervention.
Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:

Apply organisational theory to an evaluation of the placement agency.

Evaluate social policy factors which had an impact on the user group, including consideration of discrimination and structural issues.

Critically reflect on how thinking about the effective assessment and intervention with a service user evolved over time incorporating a reflection on the role and range of theory and knowledge considered during the process.

4. |
Critically reflect on personal and professional development during the placement period.
|
5. |
Evaluate the impact of relevant legislation on the user group served by the placement agency, with reference to particular users.

Social work placement experiences which allow the student the opportunity to reflect, apply and integrate a range of values and theories to social work practice.

Additional Notes
With regard to the Indicative Student Workload, the student will be working full time during the placement period for approximately 480 hours. The length of placement is prescribed by CCETSW.
