Aims of Module | |||

To provide the student with the ability to reflect on the acquisition of understanding and application of knowledge, skills and values relevant for social work practice through collaborative group work. |

1 | Reflect on the application of a range of approaches to assessment within social work practice. |
2 | Reflect on the application of applied knowledge of social work interventions within the context of evidence based practice. |
3 | Reflect on engagement with social work values and ethics applied to social work practice. |
4 | Reflect on the utility of groupwork as a learning tool. |
Indicative Module Content |
---|
Theoretical understanding of need. Methods of assessment and risk assessment. Methods of social work intervention including: direct work with children, life space skills, task centred case work, care management, psycho-social case work. Cognitive behavioural social work, and models of family therapy. Evidence based practice. Reflective practitioner skills. Ethics and values. Groupwork. The content reflects the knowledge, skills and professional confidence and competence requirements relating to engagement with public protection |
