Aims of Module
To enable the student to identify factors which produce risk to an individual, group or community. To enanble the student to evaluate the extent of the risk and to identify strategies for dealing with the implications of social risk.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Provide an appraisal of situations involving risk from the student`s practice learning experience.
2 Using knowledge of risk management; formulate an action plan to address identified risk
3 Evaluate issues of human rights within the assessment and management of risk.

Indicative Module Content
Social work practice learning experience will allow the student the opportunity to make their assessment. The student’s practice learning should reflect the knowledge, skills and professional confidence and competence requirements relating to engagement with public protection as appropriate to the practice learning setting.
