Aims of Module | |||

To provide the student with the ability to evaluate and apply a range of theoretical frameworks and methods of working with service users from an ageing population. |
Learning Outcomes for Module | |

On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to: | |
1 | Apply a range of interventions with service users from an ageing population using evidence based practice. |
2 | Demonstrate an understanding of the impact of current legislation and social policy on an ageing population. |
3 | Analyse both social and psychological processes that impact on an ageing population. |
Indicative Module Content |
---|
Methods of intervention, assessment, ethical practice, evidence based practice, Key Capabilities, exclusion, policy and legislation, sociological and psychological themes, dementia, ethnicity and spirituality, mental health and well-being, substance misuse, inter-professional practice, adult support and protection and the integration of health and social care. |
