Aims of Module
To advance students' knowledge and understanding of alternative educational cultures and enable students to experience studying social sciences in an international environment.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Demonstrate knowledge of how social science related subjects are taught in an international partner university at SCQF Level 8 or equivalent (as assessed by the host university's learning outcomes).
2 Reflect upon studying in a different culture and meeting the demands required for effective academic and personal development.

Indicative Module Content
The module content will be in agreed areas of social sciences as provided by the international partner University.

Module Delivery
Module delivery will be specific to the international partner University in which the student studies. All teaching will be in international social sciences programmes normally taught in English.

Explanatory Text
The student must gain the equivalent of 60 SCQF credits, i.e. 30 ECTS, to pass the module
Module Grade Minimum Requirements to achieve Module Grade:
Pass 60 SCQF credits, i.e.30 ECTS or more
Fail 59 SCQCF credits, i.e. 29 ECTS or less
NS Non-submission of work by published deadline or non-attendance for examination

Prerequisites for Module None in addition to SCQF 8 entry requirement or equivalent.
Corequisites for module None.
Precluded Modules None.

ADDITIONAL NOTES
Students will join cohorts in international partner universities via the Erasmus Exchange Programme which are at SCQF8 or equivalent. Each student's study programme for this module will be agreed by mutual negotiation between the student, the Erasmus Departmental and Institutional coordinators and the host international partner University. This module is the equivalent of 600 hours of student effort. The breakdown of hours into Contact Hours and Non-Contact Hours will be determined by the partner institution.
