1 | Demonstrate an understanding of psychology and a range of psychological concepts. |
2 | Demonstrate an understanding as to how knowledge of psychology underpins practice in social work. |
Indicative Module Content |
---|
Understanding psychology, physical, sensory and perceptual development, social and personality development, cognitive development, learning theory, conditioning, schematic learning, moral reasoning, childhood, adolescence and adulthood. The module aims to provide students with a knowledge and understanding of psychological concepts and theories. The module is delivered and underpinned by a commitment to core social work values of respect, individualisation, empowerment, anti-discriminatory and anti-oppressive principles and upholds the values and ethical practice standards that reflect the requirements relating to engagement with public protection. |
