To enable the student to understand, apply and evaluate a range of key concepts underpinning evidence based and reflective social work practice.

On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:

Explain and apply a range of approaches to assessment of need or risk within social work practice.

Indicative Module Content
Social work values and ethical dilemmas. Communication. Methods of assessment and risk assessment. Methods of social work intervention. Overview of qualitative and quantitative research methods.
