Aims of Module
To provide the student with the ability to understand key sociological and social policy concepts which inform analysis of contemporary soical welfare and institutions.
Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:

Indicative Module Content
Sociological theory and concepts. Forming and implementing social policy: government, politics, groups and organisations. Sociology of the family, health, groups and organisation. Social divisions, deviance and social exclusion: underclass theories.
