Aims of Module
To provide the student with the ability to understand social policy concepts which inform an analysis of contemporary social welfare and institutions. To enable the student to engage in a comparative evaluation of social policy within a range of countries.
Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:

Analyse contemporary social policies.

Critically evaluate responses of political and welfare institutions to a range of issues including social inclusion.

Provide a critical analysis of a policy in Scotland compared to that of one other country.
