Aims of Module
To provide the student with the ability to examine practice issues in social work with children and families.

Comparative Child Care/Child Protection. Prevention and support services for children and families. Community Schools. Child care/child protection law. Adoption, fostering, residential care. The role of the State in family life. The Children's Hearing System. Juvenile Offenders. Children as witness. The investigator of abuse. Case conferences. Multi-agency working. Partnership. Working with the effects of abuse. The Criminal Justice dimension of child protection.
