Aims of Module
To provide students with a knowledge and understanding of the applicability of therapeutic photography when working with service users/clients within health and social care settings.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Understand a range of relevant theories in regards to identity formation
2 Demonstrate knowledge of therapeutic photography techniques and the role of the facilitator
3 Apply themes and knowledge to the practice of therapeutic photography

Indicative Module Content
Definition and development of therapeutic photography, theoretic approaches underpinning identity formation, self-image and self-esteem, understanding relationships, photo-elicitation, photovoice and empowerment.

Module Delivery
On-line distance learning including pod casts lectures and group tasks in teamwork areas.
