Module Delivery |
---|
The module involves the student undertaking a work-based placement as a food scientist and / or nutritionist. The student undertakes the placement under supervision by the host placement organisation, supported by online learning materials. For successful completion of the placement a student must undertake the placement for a minimum of 12-weeks working full-time (approximately 35 hours per week). In the case of authorised absences e.g. illness, the placement can only be considered complete if objectives set by the host organisation are successfully achieved during the remaining placement period. If more than 50% of the placement period is marked as absent, for any reason, then the placement will be considered incomplete irrespective of the work achieved. Students must also attend a 'half-way' visit at approximately week 6 where a member of academic staff will meet with the student and supervisor for a progress report. Completion of the placement must be achieved to permit submission of the assessment components. |
