Aims of Module
To enable the student to apply the knowledge, skills and professional behaviours required of the pharmacist in the practice setting.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Communicate effectively with service users, carers, clinical supervisors, and relevant members of the interdisciplinary team.
2 Demonstrate in the practice setting the knowledge, skills and behaviours required of a pharmacist.
3 Reflect on personal and professional aspects of pharmacy practice.

Indicative Module Content
This professional development module will include experiential learning; professionalism; application of safe professional practice; protocols and standard operating procedures; patient safety; safeguarding; care, compassion, respect and empathy; team working; time management; clinical reasoning and problem solving; use of professional documentation; communication with service users, clinical supervisors and multidisciplinary team members; reflective practice; personal and professional development; preparation and skills for practice.

Module Delivery
This module comprises experiential learning alongside a range of additional Professional Experiences where a student will undertake a minimum of 70 hours of experiential learning on placement.

Module Grade Minimum Requirements to achieve Module Grade:
Pass Satisfactory evidence that demonstrates achievement of the learning outcomes and 100% attendance at all timetabled professional experiences.
Fail Unsatisfactory evidence that fails to demonstrate achievement of the learning and/or fails to attend 100% of timetabled professional experiences.
NS Non-submission of work by published deadline or non-attendance for examination
