To integrate and apply the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to implement evidence-based therapeutics and the integration of these into therapeutic plans for individual patients. |
Learning Outcomes for Module | |

On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to: | |
1 | Critically evaluate the pathophysiology, pharmacology and evidence-based therapeutics of commonly occurring disease states. |
2 | Synthesise appropriate therapeutic strategies in relation to a range of diseases |
3 | Justify effective drug and non-drug interventions for improving the health of patients and clients. |
4 | Consult effectively to gather relevant information from patients to develop patient centred health outcomes. |
Indicative Module Content |
---|
Integration of the scientific principles and clinical skills required to develop evidence based therapeutic plans for individual patients. Topics include: differentiation between minor illness and major disease including gastrointestinal and respiratory systems, skin, acute pain, womens' health, child health, eyes and ear, sexual health. |
