Aims of Module
To enable the student to integrate and apply the knowledge, skills and professional behaviours required of the pharmacist for patient care.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Communicate complex situations effectively with service users, carers, clinical supervisors and relevant members of the interdisciplinary team and critically reflect on own role and that of others within the interdisciplinary team.
2 Demonstrate in the practice setting the knowledge, skills and behaviours required of a pharmacist to respond to complex situations and competing priorities.
3 Critically reflect on and direct own professional development in relation to aspects of pharmacy practice.

Indicative Module Content
This professional development module will include experiential learning involving; professionalism; local policies and standards that are relevant to practice; communication and consultation skills; ethical decision-making skills; confidentiality; application of relevant pharmaceutical care planning knowledge and skills; opportunities to reflect on and discuss the practice setting; interdisciplinary working; personal development; professional discussion and reflective activities which involve linking theory to the practice setting; opportunities to explore personal strengths and weaknesses; continuing professional development.

Module Delivery
This modules comprises experiential learning alongside a range of additional professional experiences where a student will undertake a minimum of 35 hours of experiential learning on placement.

To pass this module, the student must achieve a module Grade of Grade D or better.
Module Grade Minimum Requirements to achieve Module Grade:
A When the grade for C1 is an A and a PASS in C2.
B When the grade for C1 is a B and a PASS in C2.
C When the grade for C1 is a C and a PASS in C2.
D When the grade for C1 is a D and a PASS in C2.
E When the grade for C1 is an E and a PASS in C2.
F When the grade for C1 is an F and/or an unsuccessful attempt (i.e. Fail) at C2.
