An undergraduate degree in a pharmacy, medical or nursing & midwifery related field from a UK university or overseas equivalent and one year post-registration experience OR an integrated masters OR in consultation with the Course Leader.

Aims of Module
To critically investigate the structures, processes and outcomes of a variety of services provided by community pharmacies.
Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:

Analyse the current national and local public policy contexts in relation to community pharmacy service provision.

Critically evaluate the structures, processes and outcomes associated with community pharmacy service provision.

Criticaly explore the role of the community pharmacy team in relation to provision of community pharmacy services.

Critically reflect on individual practise in relation to community pharmacy service provision to sytematically identify and plan for development of existing and implementation of new services.

Indicative Module Content
This module will enable the student to fully investigate and explore the structures, processes and outcomes associated with the provision of a selection of community pharmacy related services including for example:

- health promotion and improvement
- management of minor ailments services
- services for patients with long term conditions.
