Indicative Module Content |
---|
Development of aspects of practice of pharmacy relating to the patient, the medicine and the profession, with an emphasis on the safe and legal supply of medicines within a range of practice settings and development of communication skills along with professional attributes. Topics include: current legislation affecting pharmacy practice including the Human Medicines Regulations, Misuse of Drugs Act, Weights and Measures, Consumer Protection, Data Protection Act and Freedom of Information Act; supply of medicines including dispensing medicinal products, extemporaneous preparation of products, veterinary products; pharmaceutical calculations; communication and consultation skills; reflective practice and continuing professional development (CPD). |
