To provide a holistic theoretical knowledge base that enables the student to develop their role in participating in the management of people with wounds. |
Learning Outcomes for Module | |

On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to: | |
1 | Appraise the physiological pathological processes involved in the healing of wounds and explore the complexities that may affect this. |
2 | Evaluate approaches to holistic wound assessment, planning of care to manage priorities, alongside the synthesis of treatment options when caring for people with wounds. |
3 | Critically review the contemporary wound care evidence base and the challenges of person-centred wound care practices. |
4 | Critically examine the impact of local and national political, health and social care agendas on the management of people with wounds. |
5 | Critically reflect on wound care practices in clinical care and explore a plan for sharing new wound care knowledge gained. |
