Aims of Module
Advance knowledge of pathophysiology essential to the role of the advanced clinical practitioner.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Critically explore the key pathophysiological processes across the lifespan.
2 Critically analyse the pathophysiology of clinical features across the lifespan.
3 Critically analyse decision making and rationale for investigating disease.
4 Analyse normal physiological and pathological phenomena across the life span, analysing the relationship.
5 Demonstrate application of knowledge in relation to health and illness in the individual (contextualised to area of clinical practice).

Normal values; Homeostasis; Recognising abnormalities; Parameters; Risk versus benefit; Decision making; Critical thinking; Interpreting significance of findings; Establishing abnormal from normal; Significance to patient in relation to morbidity and co-morbidity; Pathophysiological processes; Disease; Dysfunction; Pathophysiologic alterations.
