Aims of Module | |||

To prepare healthcare professionals to independently elicit a structured clinical history and perform a clinical minor injuries assessment concentrating on patients presenting with minor injuries. |
Learning Outcomes for Module | |

On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to: | |
1 | Critically appraise professional and legal issues relating to the role of the healthcare professional managing minor injuries. |
2 | Evaluate the implications of the pathophysiological processes for patients presenting with minor injuries. |
3 | Critically appraise the skills required in consultation, history taking and assessment of patients presenting with minor injuries. |
4 | Critically analyse the decision-making processes involved in the diagnosis and treatment of minor injuries. |
5 | Synthesize the concepts of evidence-based practice that underpin the management of minor injuries through critical reflection. |
