Aims of Module
To enable the student to critically explore and deliver safe and effective interventions to achieve wellbeing outcomes within school nursing practice.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Critically analyse the underpinning theories, principles and concepts of leading and managing teams and caseloads.
2 Critically analyse a range of strategies and interventions to address the contemporary health care requirements within school nursing practice.
3 Critically explore the role of the school nurse in the facilitation of learning.
4 Critically appraise the role of the school nurse within multi-agency work.

Health, social and education policy; Digital health; National practice model; Identifying needs of individual families, groups and communities; Risk analysis and management; Quality improvement; Supporting long term conditions in schools and other settings; Promoting emotional and mental health; Substance use; Measuring impact of school nursing practice; Sustainable development goals; Decision making; School nursing framework practice and delivery of intervention (universalism vs targeted); Managing conflict; Assertiveness; Facilitation of difficult conversations and co-production; Transition in childhood; UN Rights of Child; Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014; Teaching and learning.
