To develop the student's ability to integrate and apply the required theories, principles, concepts and skills of a specialist community public health nurse in their defined area of practice. |

Indicative Module Content |

The student will critically reflect on practice and apply core knowledge, skills and attributes required as a specialist community public health nurse in their defined area of practice including: Health profiling; Health needs assessment; Health promotion; Advanced communication skills; Multi-agency working; Interdisciplinary team working; Management and leadership; Public health; Human development; Evidence informed-decision making, professional judgement; Risk management; Continuing professional development; Critical reflection. |

This module normally includes 10 weeks whole time equivalent in practice. HV and SN students will undertake an additional 3 weeks Alternative Practice hours to be completed within the module time frame of either NUM074 or NUM078/98. This will be negotiated with the Health Board/Health and Social Care Partnership. |
