Aims of Module | |||
---|---|---|---|
To prepare the student to independently undertake a clinical history and examination and, critically explore the impact of pathophysiological processes and their impact on patient care to aid clinical decision making. |
Learning Outcomes for Module | |

On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to: | |
1 | Use a systematic approach to autonomously collect data relating to the health and functional history and ability of clients, which will influence the clinical assessment you undertake. |
2 | Synthesise and document findings from history and clinical examination, identifying abnormal to aid clinical decision making and management. |
3 | Critically evaluate the implications of the pathophysiological process for patients in your care. |
4 | Critically explore how pathological processes influence client presentations and the formulation of a differential diagnosis. |
5 | Critically evaluate treatment options in order to inform decision making throughout patient journeys. |

Clinical history taking; Examination of the cardiovascular, respiratory, musculoskeletal, gastrointestinal, neurological and cranial nerves; Acute assessment; Variances of specialities; Documentation of findings; Clinical decision making; Physiology; Introduction to pathophysiology. |
