Aims of Module
To develop the student's knowledge of attendance management in the workplace.
Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:

Review current policy drivers in the management of workplace attendance.

Critically analyse the role of the Occupational Health practitioner in the management of absence.

Appraise human resource management theory, employment legislation and policies relevant to the management of absence.

Evaluate case management approaches in sickness-absence management and rehabilitation.

Report writing; employment law; equalities; communication; collaboration; role of occupational health/human resources in attendance management; case management; industrial relations; reasonable adjustments; rehabilitation; policies and procedures; sociology; work psychology; organisational structures and systems.
